Table of Contents

Are you trying to customize your WooCommerce store for a multilingual audience? Changing the language of your store is an easy and convenient way to make your website more accessible for customers around the world. In this blog post, we’ll walk through how to quickly and easily change the language of your WooCommerce store.

Step 1: Log into Your WordPress Dashboard

First, log into your WordPress dashboard. If you need help accessing your dashboard, take a look at this link.

Once you are in, navigate to the “Settings” tab located on the left-hand side of the page. From here, click on “General” and scroll down until you see the “Site Language” section. Here, you will be able to choose from a list of available languages or enter a specific language code if yours is not listed. After selecting your desired language, click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.

Step 2: Install Your Preferred Language Pack

Next, you will need to install a corresponding language pack for your selected language in order for it to appear correctly on your site. To do so, go to Plugins > Add New from within your WordPress dashboard. Search for “Loco Translate” and click on Install Now followed by Activate once it has been installed successfully. Now that Loco Translate is activated, go back to Settings > General and select the same language as before (the one that was not showing up properly). This time when you click Save Changes it should prompt you with an option to download a translation pack for that particular language if it does not already exist in Loco Translates library. Select Yes and follow any additional instructions provided by Loco Translate in order to complete installation of the translation pack onto your website.

Navigate back over to Plugins > Installed Plugins and search for Loco Translate again. Click Settings next to its name and select which languages are enabled on your site from within this menu (the one(s) that have just been installed should be selected by default). Then click Save Changes at the bottom of this page as well before moving onto Step 3 below!

You can preview how it looks by visiting any pages or posts associated with WooCommerce such as Shop Page or product pages/posts etc., If everything looks correct then congratulations you have successfully changed the language of WooCommerce on your website!
